Rolls-Royce Releases Sketches of Special Edition Wraith Eagle VIII
Luxury automobile manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently marked the centenary of the first non-stop transatlantic by releasing sketches of a special edition Wraith Eagle VIII which pays tribute to the 1,800-mile journey. A 100 years ago, Captain John Alcock and Lieutenant Arthur Brown took to the skies to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a Vickers Vimy aircraft, powered by twin Rolls-Royce Eagle VIII engines.
To mark the occasion, Rolls-Royce released sketches of the limited edition Wraith Eagle VIII. The sketches were created by Bespoke Collective, which is a part of the Rolls-Royce company.
The special edition Rolls-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII showcases a headliner sketch cloud embroidery, the halfway point coordinates, and the flight path of Alcock and Brown. A further detailed sketch shows the night-time view from above, which is incorporated into Wraith’s fascia, in the form of gold, silver, and copper inlay.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, “The unique skill of our Bespoke Design Collective sees the story of one of the most pivotal moments of the 20th century, the first non-stop transatlantic flight, told using Wraith, a motor car which speaks of power, drama, and adventure. Wraith Eagle VIII is a modern masterpiece – these sketches offer an extraordinary insight into its creation.”
Rolls-Royce has demonstrated incredible attention to detail by also adding a clock with an iced background to create the effect of freezing instruments, similar to that experienced by Alcock and Brown. However, there’s still a green night-time glow, a direct reference to the only light seen by Alcock and Brown as they crossed the Atlantic.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith Eagle VIII Collection edition will be created exclusively for discerning collectors at Goodwood, West Sussex – Home of Rolls-Royce.
The luxury and comfort of your own dedicated chauffeur driver also provide additional comfort on your wedding day. The advantage of a dedicated chauffeur driver is that they will focus on the timings and getting you to the venue at the right time, and you can focus on enjoying the important things that really matter on your wedding day.
Once you decide that you wish to hire a Rolls Royce as your wedding transport on your special day, you will have to decide where you wish to hire the car from. Many people will use the internet to find a wedding transport company, where they can hire a car and a chauffeur driver.
When looking on the internet, it is always a good idea to also visit the wedding car showroom. One of the main advantages of this is that you can physically see the car in the flesh before securing the booking. Unfortunately, some wedding transport websites may advertise certain cars and have “stock” photographs of the car – however, in reality, they are leasing a much older model.
Double-check some of the practicalities such as whether the car will be professionally cleaned before it is used on your special day, how long the chauffeur driver will stay, what insurance or coverage does the car has in the case of an accident etc. Although some of these questions may seem over the top, you must consider all eventualities and scenarios for your special day.
Remember, your wedding transport is performing one of your wedding day’s most important parts – it is delivering you to your wedding venue and will be a prominent part of your wedding photos. Take the time to choose the right transport for yourself, and enjoy your wedding day.
