Heavy snow fall blankets elements of the Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS – It’s become an unprecedented sight in southern Nevada as elements of the Las Vegas valley noticed heavy snowstorms that stayed at the ground.
The valley saw anywhere from 1 to two half inches of snow.
I-15 become closed between St. Rose Parkway and the Nevada/California border for almost 5 hours because of ice and numerous crashes.
Red Rock Canyon Loop was also closed inside the morning hours however did reopen around noon.
Temperatures will stay cooler this week, even losing to freezing in the overnight hours. There is an opportunity for more snow later in the week.
