Monte Carlo settles trademark row with Skoda Auto 1

Garment-maker Monte Carlo Fashions and Czech car organization Skoda Auto have agreed wherein the latter may be allowed to use the “Monte Carlo” trademark for its motors.

Monte Carlo Fashions had moved a Delhi court docket against Skoda for trademark infringement after Skoda released the ‘Monte Carlo’ edition of its Rapid sedan in August 2017. A year since the Delhi courtroom admitted Monte Carlo’s plea, a press launch said.

However, both parties determined to settle the dispute amicably. Under the settlement, Skoda has got a license from Monte Carlo Fashions to apply the ‘Monte Carlo’ trademark for its automobiles, spare elements, and automobile add-ons for packaging fabric, advertising marketing, promotions, and marketing.

“We have agreed to give Skoda a license to use our logo name to market and sell their ‘Monte Carlo’ version of cars. This is a win-win answer for both the organizations,” stated Rishabh O
